Breast Augmentation - How Big Do You Wanna Go?

If you are considering breast augmentation, the first thing you need to ask yourself is, "How big do I wanna go"? You can have a little touch up just to make those boobs perkier, or you can go larger for that swimsuit model look. Most women go somewhere in between.

When you're looking at options, you'll start seeing a strange vocabulary of letters and numbers-DD, C-cup, 34 D, etc. The only people on earth who fully understand these measurements are either teenage boys who look at their dad's dirty magazines, or plastic surgeons experienced in breast augmentation. Let's break the measurement system down so you can decide how big you want them to be.

Your Breast Size Primer

Breast size measurements weren't invented by the adult entertainment industry. We have the bra and lingerie makers to thank for developing a system of classification.

Basically, cups start from A, and work their way down the alphabet. Size A is the smallest, and with B, C, D and so on, the boobs get bigger. Most women naturally fall into the B-D range. However, bras are made in with cups all the way to H and beyond. Unless you'd like to carry your boobs around in a wheelbarrow, Size H is not recommended.

Actually, it's no joke; many women with boobs these large don't go to the cosmetic surgeon for breast augmentation, but for reduction surgery. A very large bust can cause major problems like back strain, bra discomfort and unwanted stares and hollers from people you'd rather not talk to.

There are also smaller cups than A. These are usually training bras for teenagers, and most of these are called "AA". For the other end of the scale, the bigger side of D, we also have "DD". These are bra and cup sizes that are just a little bigger than a regular D.

Once we have a letter, there are also numbers. The numbers measure inches. So, a Size 32D means you would wear a D Cup and your measurement is 32 inches. In general, plastic surgeons talk in terms of letter sizes, and the number measurements are used more for bra fittings. Still, there can be quite a bit of difference between a 32 A and a 38 A in terms of the roundness and shape of the bust.

What Do The Letters And Numbers Mean?

When you talk to a doctor about your augmentation surgery, the best thing to do is to look at picture and decide about how big you'd like your boobs to be. For those new to breast sizes, here are the basics:

AA-Offer a pretty flat look. There isn't any roundness and maybe just a bump where the breast should be.

A-Breasts are small and perky. Definitely feminine, but not what you'd call a handful.

B-This is the most common bra size in the United States. B varies from small but round, all the way to full-breasted. B cup is the average range for most women.

C-Now, we're getting a little bigger. Lots of women seek breast augmentation to upgrade from a B to C cup. C breasts are definitely full, and the upper range of C might be described as "big".

D-D breasts are pretty large and noticeable. You are sure to get stares with this size. The lower range, around 34 D, gives you full, round breasts that stand proudly off your chest. In the upper range, around 42 D, you will have noticeably large breasts.

E-This is the porn star range and most women don't go quite that big. Actually some E cup women prefer to downgrade. Still, it's a possibility; you can have it your way!

One thing to keep in mind is that cups differ between the United States and Europe. Europe uses half-cups and go all the way from A to K. Hopefully now you have a better idea of what all those letters and numbers say. Still, the best way to know for sure is to look at the doctor's pictures.
